Petersburg residents warned of intense heat and thunderstorms

The air temperature on Friday will rise to plus 30 degrees.

Leading specialist of the Phobos weather center Mikhail Leus predicted short-lived thunderstorms in the Leningrad region in the afternoon on Friday, July 26.

According to him, thermometers in the region will show from 25 to 30 degrees. In St. Petersburg, the air will heat up to 28-30 degrees.

In turn, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in St. Petersburg warned of an increase in air temperature in the city on Friday to plus 30 degrees.

Leus noted in his Telegram channel that the synoptic situation in the atmosphere over the Northern capital will continue to be formed by a predominantly sunny and dry ridge of the anticyclone, but it will gradually begin to give up its positions. In this regard, precipitation with thunderstorms is possible in the southwest of the region.

The meteorologist noted that atmospheric pressure in the region will be 758 mm Hg, which is slightly below normal.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, July 27, short-term rains with thunderstorms will hit the Northern capital in the evening. The heat in the city will slow down a bit – 26-28 degrees are expected.
