Peugeot e-208 44 kWh – 2020 – 40,622 km – Accudegradation

The reason that Luuk is looking for a new car is anything but positive. “My wife had an accident some time ago. Fortunately, she was unharmed, but little was left of her Volkswagen Up. So we are looking for a new car for my wife.” After driving electric once, she was immediately sold. She loves it. “She loves passing that gas station without having to get your hands dirty.” Lida, Luuk’s wife, only needs the car for commuting. “She works in the neighboring village, so she does not drive more than 5,000 kilometers per year.” Car hobby The lady of the house may want an electric car, but Luuk has little use for it. He proudly shows a number of photos of his own cars from the famous German sports car brand from Stuttgart, including an azure blue 911 GT 3. That love did not just arise. “I used to ride English classics. Until I was allowed to go with a friend in 1998 to pick up his brand new 911 in Germany. I was immediately sold. I sold all my English cars and since then I have driven nothing but a Porsche.” Always at one hundred percent. According to Luuk’s knowledge, the Peugeot has been on the fast charger no more than ten times, so he hopes for a good result. “At least 96 percent seems realistic to me after more than 40,000 kilometers.” Luuk also left the test to his knowledge. So everything is a surprise for him today. Then the results… The Peugeot came out of the test with a score of 94 percent. “Not a score to write home about, but not bad either,” said Marcel van Renselaar of Aviloo. “We often see cars here with much higher mileage that score about the same. These are often more expensive cars that are designed with higher battery pack specifications. They are therefore more resistant to battery degradation. This e-208 has not been designed with that extra space that some previous EVs had.” According to Marcel, it is also true that always charging to one hundred percent at home is not beneficial for the battery pack. “All these factors play a role in the result, which is not excellent, but certainly not bad.” Luuk is not completely satisfied. “Certainly considering the mileage, I think a score of 94 percent is a bit disappointing. We’re going to talk about it again at home, because this canary yellow Peugeot e-208 appeals to my wife. On the other hand, she was devoted to her Up. There is also an electric version. Perhaps that is a better option.” So the search continues for a while for Luuk. Success!
