◆ Obtained an integrated grade of ‘A’, up 2 levels in Celltrion’s ESG evaluation, etc.
Celltrion announced on the 13th that it recently obtained an ‘integrated grade of A’ in the ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) evaluation from the Korea ESG Standards Service (KCGS).
KCGS is a non-profit corporation established to support sustainable growth of companies and contribute to the capital market. Every year, we evaluate companies and announce ratings with a focus on the environment, social responsibility, and sound and transparent governance. This year, the evaluation was conducted on 794 companies listed on the stock market.
Celltrion earned an A grade in the environment and governance sector and an A+ grade in the social sector, respectively, and was selected as an integrated grade ‘A’, proving its excellent performance in overall ESG management. According to KCGS, Grade A is a grade recognized as having an appropriate sustainable management system in terms of environment, society, and governance, and with little risk of damage to shareholder value due to non-financial risks. This rating is evaluated as a key indicator that refers to the overall level of a company’s ESG management, and the Korea Exchange also uses it to construct the KRX ESG Investment Index stocks.
Celltrion is pursuing ESG management to become a ‘global comprehensive biotechnology company that realizes the value of promoting human health and welfare’ with the vision of ‘building a sustainable medical service ecosystem based on ESG management’. To this end, we are strengthening activities in each field by establishing systematic ESG governance, such as establishing a dedicated ESG department under the CEO in 2022 and forming an ESG committee under the Board of Directors.
