The screen equipped with a 3440×1440 resolution and a VA panel praised as very fast is placed in the company’s middle class at a price of just under 400 euros.
Philips’ gaming brand Evnia has introduced a new gaming monitor. The novelty is placed in the Evnia 5000 series, i.e. practically in the middle class of its offer.
Philips Evnia 34M2C5501A is a gaming monitor equipped with a curved (1500R) Fast VA panel, which also features the brand’s characteristic Ambiglow lighting, this time enhanced with artificial intelligence. At 32 inches, the panel offers a very wide 3440×1440 resolution with a maximum refresh rate of 180 hertz. According to the technical data, the traditional G2G response time of the panel is 1 millisecond, but with the help of Smart MBR technology, it is promised to correspond to a poor response time of 0.5 milliseconds.
The screen is 8-bit, but supports 10-bit colors with FRC technology and promises to reproduce 91% of AdobeRGB, 95% of DCI-P3 and 126% of sRGB color spaces. The Delta E value is promised to be less than 2, which means that the color accuracy should also be on point. Brightness is typically offered at 300 nits, but based on the DisplayHDR 400 certificate, the maximum is actually 400 nits or more. The contrast ratio is reported to be 4000:1 and the viewing angles are 178° both vertically and horizontally. The background lighting of the screen is implemented with white LEDs.
Behind the screen there are two HDMI 2.0 and one DisplayPort 1.4 connectors, a headphone connection and a 3-port USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps). One of the hub’s three USB-A connections also supports fast charging (USB Battery Charging 1.2). The display also has two 5-watt speakers. The monitor leg is promised 130 mm of adjustment space in the vertical direction as well as a ±30° turning radius and -5/+20° tilt.
Philips Evnia 34M2C5501A will go on sale immediately and according to Hinta.fi price monitoring, it is available at the cheapest price of just under 400 euros.
