PhosAgro maintains its position in the TOP of the RAEX ranking

The company has once again confirmed its ability to effectively interact with stakeholders on social policy and environmental issues.

Experts from the RAEX rating agency studied data from 160 companies and analyzed their indicators characterizing the quality of interaction with residents of the cities where they operate, public organizations, and business partners in terms of implementing social policies and environmental protection programs. According to the results of the study, PhosAgro took second place in the thematic ESG ranking. Also among the top three leaders with the best practices in this industry are PJSC Polyus and PJSC Tatneft.

RAEX noted the system of effective interaction with partners and contractors built by PhosAgro at all levels, the rapid increase in the company’s support for the social sphere and charity, investments in the development of new products, scientific and research activities. In particular, RAEX highlighted the project to create a carbon testing ground for studying the offset absorption of the carbon footprint and PhosAgro’s research in the field of phosphogypsum application.

“Supply chain monitoring is implemented using the SKAUT system, an innovative method for checking and monitoring the reliability of suppliers. PhosAgro evaluates all categories of suppliers in terms of their environmental impact, the presence of an environmental management system, and evaluates and records ESG indicators of supply chains,” RAEX emphasized.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC PhosAgro Viktor Cherepov thanked RAEX for its large-scale work on assessing corporate practices. “ESG principles are the cornerstone of PhosAgro’s long-term development, the main language of communication both within the company and with partners. The ability to listen and understand, respond in a timely manner, and competently interact with a wide range of stakeholders is a key element of our approach to doing business and serves as a solid foundation for progress in achieving strategic goals in the area of ​​sustainable development. It is gratifying that our systemic and long-term efforts are highly valued by experts,” said Viktor Cherepov.

According to experts, PhosAgro’s achievement of the top positions in the RAEX ranking once again confirms its commitment to the principles of sustainable development and indicates the successful implementation of ESG criteria in the long-term development strategy. The company’s efforts are aimed not only at expanding and modernizing production capacities, but also at deep and active participation in the socio-economic development of all regions of presence, interaction with public and veteran organizations, trade unions, educational and sports institutions.

The company has concluded and is fully implementing agreements on comprehensive socio-economic cooperation with the Leningrad, Murmansk, Saratov and Vologda regions. With the arrival of such an investor as PhosAgro, the territories have additional opportunities for development. Last year, the volume of the company’s tax payments to budgets at all levels increased by 15% – to a record 69 billion rubles.

The well-being of employees is also growing: the average salary at the company’s enterprises has increased by 60% over 3 years, and from February 1, 2024, salaries have been indexed by another 15%.

Over the past 10 years, PhosAgro has increased its funding for charitable and social programs sevenfold — in 2022–2023, this amount exceeded 25 billion rubles. Among the key social projects that the agrochemical holding company is implementing in all regions where it operates are one of the best personnel training programs in the country, “School — College/University — Enterprise,” and the sports and educational program “Education, Health, and Spirituality for the Children of Russia” (DROZD). Thanks to it, more than 8,000 children are engaged in sports and creativity for free. In total, over 20 years, more than 150,000 students have completed the DROZD school.

The company also actively develops and improves the urban environment, supports medicine by allocating significant funds to updating equipment and purchasing medicines in local hospitals, repairs and equips sponsored schools and colleges, and builds and reconstructs sports facilities.
