In the meantime, Television Sarajevo is reporting on truly astonishing scenes in the area of the local Grabovica and Jablanica hydroelectric power stations on the Neretva River, where incredible amounts of waste, silt, other objects and even the remains of houses that were swept away by the water are accumulating after the floods. Representatives of the Bosnian Water Inspectorate have already visited the area and confirmed that floating waste is accumulating on the dams and that the state company Elektroprivreda BiH has already concluded a contract with an authorized company for the removal of this waste. They also explained that according to the first findings, the waste at the hydroelectric power plants did not leave any consequences, and until further notice, activities for their removal will take place.

According to the explanations of the company Elektroprivreda BiH, approximately 50,000 cubic meters of waste have accumulated in the area of the dam of the Grabovica hydroelectric plant alone, and new ones continue to come down the river. The situation is gradually stabilizing. “The dams are completely stable, and the management of the hydroelectric power plant system is carried out with the aim of completely normalizing the production process,” they further explained.
