Spanish meteorologists, who issued red alarms for two cities in the morning, served another bad news in the evening. Extensive flooding threatens Valencia again, where two weeks ago they already experienced a disaster that claimed more than 200 lives.

The Spanish national meteorological service Aemet issued a red alert for Malaga in the south of the country and Tarragona in Catalonia in the north-east of the country in the morning due to the predicted heavy rainfall. They warned that 180 liters of rain per square meter could fall in 12 hours in Tarragona and 120 liters in Malaga. The authorities immediately started evacuations. In the Malaga area alone, approximately 3,000 residents were evacuated in the morning, and an additional 1,100 were evacuated in the afternoon, as the river Velez there is already flooding.

In Malaga, they have been preparing for the worst all day.

The latest warning from the Meteorological Service, which lifted the red warning for Tarragona in the afternoon, is even more worrying. In Aemet, the highest red warning was issued in the evening for Valencia, which was ravaged by catastrophic floods two weeks ago, in which more than 220 people died, and many are still missing. Valencia City Council has closed all underpasses in the city after issuing a warning to all traffic, and residents have been asked to stay in their homes.

It is expected to be worst in the Andalusian Costa del Sol area, which includes resorts such as Marbella, Estepona and Velez.

The disaster was also experienced today in the east of Sicily, where the roads turned into torrents, and the water swept cars and other objects into the sea, which it caught on the way.
