Yesterday, a few minutes after 6 p.m., firefighters were called to intervene in Sv. Lovrenc in the municipality of Prebold, where the fire engulfed the roof of an older residential building.
All fire brigades from the Prebold Fire Brigade were activated: Sv. Lovrenc, Matke, Prebold – Dolenja vas – Marija Reka, Kaplja vas, Groblja, Latkova vas and Šešče. At the request of the leader of the intervention, the fire brigades from the volunteer fire brigades of Šempeter in the Savinjska dolina, Žalec and Ločica ob Savinja from the Žalec Fire Association were also activated. A total of 99 firefighters with 18 fire engines from both fire brigades participated in the intervention.

With quick and coordinated action, the firemen managed to contain the fire and put it out completely, thus preventing the spread of the fire and major material damage. The intervention was successfully completed at around 9 p.m., explained the spokesperson of GZ Žalec Tadej Zupan.
