Heavy rainfall continued to cause many problems in the areas of the regional information centers Slovenj Gradec, Kranj, Ljubljana, Celje, Maribor, Novo mesto and Brežice, even during the night of Saturday. In total, around 200 events were recorded.
Firefighters from 49 voluntary associations of fire brigades and seven professional fire brigades had to pump water from residential, commercial and other buildings due to stormwater, the Information Center of the Republic of Slovenia also announced.
In the municipality of Dravograd, the rain triggered two landslides, one closed the main road Radlje-Dravograd, the other threatened a residential building in the village of Bukovje. Hudournik is in Sv. Duhu in the municipality of Dravograd washed away the bridge to the farm, and in the municipality of Mozirje it washed away the road and flooded a residential building. Lightning damaged three residential buildings, in one case fire damaged the facade and roof of a residential building. Due to the wet terrain, trees fell, which blocked roads, damaged houses and personal vehicles, according to the information center.
In the village of Kokra, a rising stream washed away the bridge and flooded several buildings. It was not possible to eliminate the consequences during the night, so they continued with the activities in the morning. Due to the strong storm, the firefighters of PGD Preddvor safely escorted 47 scouts from the camp in Kokra to one of the tourist facilities.
In the municipality of Kostanjevica na Krka, stormwater flooded the basement of a non-residential building. Firefighters from PGD Prekop intervened, and a similar thing happened in Beltinci, where PGD Beltinci pumped stormwater from a residential building and temporarily rehabilitated its roof with plastic film.
In the municipality of Krško, during the worst storm, stormwater flooded several basement rooms. PGE Krško and PGD Dolenja vas were activated.
