The ballet dancers and ballerinas from Maribor impressed at the premiere of the new ballet gear, which attracted many famous faces to SNG Maribor.
Opera and Ballet SNG Maribor premiered a dramatic ballet Flames of Pariswhich focuses on the themes of struggle, resistance and freedom, and is set during the French Revolution. The narrative, loosely based on historical events, follows a pair of French peasants who become involved in the fight against the aristocracy, interweaving themes of love, betrayal and patriotism. Flames of Paris is acclaimed for its vibrant choreography, dynamic ensemble scenes and stunning solo performances. Over the years, this ballet has been performed and reinterpreted by many choreographers and groups.
