Photographed his conscript children – prosecuted

Domestic. Six people are charged with taking photographs at a military protection object in Skåne during August 2024, after taking pictures of their relatives in rags.

The defendants, who according to information are parents and siblings of conscripts, were there to participate in the last induction to military training this year.

Despite the fact that the facility is a protected object, they chose to take pictures of their relatives.

The regiment in question has previously had problems with private individuals photographing the facility illegally, and security around the site has thus been a priority issue.

The defendants now risk fines of up to SEK 20,000 each for unlawful depiction of protected objects, reports Dagens Nyheter.

The case is one of several concerning protected objects in Sweden and the criticized Swedish security thinking, which is based on the idea that one should be able to keep the appearance of publicly accessible places from Russia a secret by prohibiting photography.
