In the immediate vicinity of the “Bresje” water treatment plant, in the village of Subotinac near Aleksinac, a water pipe burst and a large geyser was created. The director of the Waterworks says that the factory will run out of water, but the city will not.
Director of Aleksinac Waterworks Darko Filipović says that there will be no problem with water supply for the next twenty hours.
The burst occurred in the raw water pipeline, the one that takes water from Bovno to the treatment plant. The breakdown is more serious, our workers are in the field and have orders to close the pipeline from the dam, so there will be no geysers, but the factory will remain without water. The city will have water for some time, says Filipović.
He states that the problem will not be solved for at least 24 hours because just putting the pipeline into operation takes that long.
