Pixel’s call screening feature could get smarter responses

One of the best goodies on phones Pixel it’s the function Call Screen. This feature allows Google Assistant to answer your calls to find out who is calling and why. Google added this very useful feature late last year, and it looks like the company will be offering it soon AI answers.

In fact, a leaker posted on X that Google was working on AI responses for the Call Screen feature in the Phone app. The tipster also posted one screenshot functionality, as shown below.

“Call Assist suggests new intelligent AI-based responses based on the caller’s responses to the Calls screen”we read in description of the functionality of answers based on artificial intelligence.

9to5Google also dug into the app Telephone of Pixel and discovered strings that mention AI responses. In fact, the site correctly notes that the current Call Screen functionality is indicated as “dobby” in the previous strings. However, the most recent strings for AI responses mention “dobby_AI” e “dobby_LLM“, suggesting an AI model that powers these responses.

It is not known exactly how these AI-based responses they will differ from the contextual responses currently displayed in the “Call Screen” feature, but the feature is in the works and could arrive at any time.
