Pixies present new song “Motorroller”

Group Pixies released a new song called “Scooter”, which comes from their upcoming album „The Night the Zombies Came“.

The song “Motorroller”, imbued with acoustic and electric guitar, accompanies the vocalist Black Francisa while riding a scooter through Berlin, talking about the various obscure details he encounters during the trip. New vocalist and bassist Emma Richardson (formerly a member of Band of Skulls) elevates Frances’ melodies to a higher pitch and brings numerous vocal harmonies.

“It’s a song that has little threads that you can follow that lead you somewhere,” said Francis about this song. “But these threads are not mandatory for the experience. You can just explore the texts and you may not find exactly what the story is, but you will come across some story related to Berlin. Enjoy the clues that are there.”

“Motorroller” comes after the earlier singles from the album The Night the Zombies Cameincluding “Oyster Beds,” “Chicken,” “You’re So Impatient” and “Que Sera, Sera.” The Night the Zombies Came is the Pixies’ tenth album and the first since the departure of Paz Lenchantin earlier this year. The album is out on October 25th, just in time for Halloween.

The Pixies are currently preparing to tour with Pearl Jam in Australia and New Zealand this fall, but have just announced a UK and European tour in 2025. The tour starts on April 25 in Utrecht, Holland, and lasts until the end of May.
