PO Bagong’s Hino Bus AK 240 Space Frame Appears at GIIAS 2024

DAPURPACUID – Various truck and bus products appeared on the Hino stand at the 2024 GIIAS event, one of which was the Hino Bus AK 240 with a new body application for large front-engine buses.

The bus fleet owned by PO Bagong is part of the purchase of 29 Hino Bus AK 240 units this year, featuring a space frame rear frame design with a wider cargo area.

This product offers various advantages that make it an ideal solution for inter-city, inter-provincial, inter-city within a province, and tourist bus transportation businesses.

Equipped with a larger luggage space that is transparent on both sides, it allows companies to load more goods in one trip, whether it is long-distance or tourist.

With these advantages, it is believed to be able to reduce the need for additional transportation, lower operational costs, and increase business efficiency.

Sales Director of PT Hino Motors Sales Indonesia, Susilo Darmawan said, the Hino Bus AK 240 with a space frame rear frame design can be an attractive choice for PO Bus.

“This is the optimal combination of performance and efficiency. The new body application design offers a larger luggage space to carry more passenger goods,” he added.

The Hino Bus AK 240 is equipped with a Euro 4 standard engine that produces 240 PS of power, supported by a 6-speed MX06 transmission with a GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight) of up to 15 tons.

Thanks to this configuration, the Hino AK 240 Bus offers reliable performance, and is able to handle various road conditions with good fuel efficiency and low emissions.

There is a full air brake braking system that increases safety aspects when operating. This braking system uses pressurized air to produce responsive braking force, ensuring safer operation.

By using ISO-10 wheel bolts that comply with international standards, it provides comfort for drivers because the bus components are designed to meet qualified safety standards.

Hino Collaborates with Bismania Community

Taking advantage of the GIIAS 2024 event, the Hino booth held a casual chat entitled ‘Smart on the Road’, as part of Hino’s commitment to supporting driving safety and providing education to the public.

This talk show presents a collaboration between Hino, Bismania Community (BMC) and PO Bagong, one of the largest transportation companies in East Java.

The main objective of the discussion was for the entire community, especially the bus enthusiast community, to be more concerned about road safety.

With proper education, it is hoped that a safe and wise driving culture can be created, reducing the risk of accidents and providing comfort and safety for passengers.

The talk show at the Hino booth presented speakers who have extensive experience and knowledge in the field of transportation such as Yulius Jatmiko, BMC Advisor; Nur Rizka, General Manager of PO Bagong; and Anton Nugroho, Division Head of GSO & Bus Hino.

In this discussion, the speakers conveyed important messages regarding road safety for passengers and Bismania members.

They share insights and practical tips for staying safe while traveling, as well as how to behave wisely on the road.

“We continue to improve driving safety for passenger safety, such as regular training for drivers, regular vehicle inspections and the application of the latest safety technology to the PO Bagong bus fleet,” explained Rizka.

Anton said that Hino, as the market leader for buses in Indonesia, which controls more than 60% of the market share, continues to be committed to providing vehicles equipped with high safety features.

“As of now, the Hino bus line up is equipped with a full air brake braking system, ABS and the use of safer ISO-10 wheel bolt systems,” concluded Anton. (dpid/TH)
