Poco X7 and X7 Pro official: Big battery, improved camera, great price

Poco has just launched a pair of new X-class representatives, which are intended for both gamers and more demanding users looking for the best balance between performance and price. Little X7 and most importantly Bit X7 Pro with price tags under 300 or under 400 euros, they have equipment like last year’s flagships with twice the price. Although they have almost the same name, there are several differences between the two innovations.

Poco X7 Pro

Compared to last year’s version, the dimensions have practically not changed, but the weight has increased to 195 grams. A fundamental improvement of the construction is that even Poco finally supports resistance to water and dust IP68 and manages half an hour 1.5 m below the surface. Last year it was only IP54 splash resistance. The Pro version will also be available in its iconic yellow and black color.

The display has not changed in fineness or dimensions in a year, it is still a 6.67-inch 120 Hz AMOLED with 1.5K resolution. However, the typical brightness has risen significantly to 1,400 nits and the maximum brightness up to 3,200 rivets. The cover glass Gorilla Glass 7i is also new, which, according to the manufacturer, should be twice as durable as last year.

He takes care of performance Dimensity 8400 Ultrawhich Mediatek produces with a 4 nm process. According to Poco (Xiaomi), it is thanks to the cooling system LiquidCool 4.0 with a cooling chamber with an area of ​​5,000 mm², ready for even more effective heat dissipation and thus long playing of demanding titles without reducing performance.

Poco X7 Pro uses a silicon-carbon battery with a capacity of up to 6 000 mAh. This number alone would be above standard. In combination with the new chip from Mediatek, which according to the manufacturer should have up to 54% higher energy efficiency than the previous model, we could also expect two full days of use on one charge. The charging speed is also decent 90 W.

Poco has also improved the main camera with a lens with a higher aperture and it can now record 4K video at 60 frames per second. It already supports electronic and optical stabilization. The ultra-wide-angle camera remains unchanged and offers a resolution of 8 Mpix. It is interesting that after a long time, the X7 Pro model got rid of the third 2 Mpix macro camera, which several users called unnecessary. Poco is clearly listening to its customers.

Little X7

The smaller sibling is no longer a Pro, but it still offers more than decent equipment in its price category. It has a significantly different design, dominated by a central island with three cameras and a flash, and is slightly more rounded. Happily, it also already supports resilience IP68.

The display is identical to that of the Poco X7 Pro with two exceptions. Typical brightness is 1200 and max 3000 rivets, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 prevents scratches.

The heart of the device is the chipset Mediatek Dimensity 7300 Ultrawhich, in combination with up to 12 GB of operating memory, will be fully sufficient for normal use and occasional gaming.

The camera equipment is also identical. With a single exception, the lower-end processor only allows recording 4K video at a normal 30 fps. In this case, the battery still has an excellent capacity 5 110 mAh and supports 45 W charging.

Both novelties can boast a relatively rare infrared port for controlling home electronics and will have the Google Gemini AI platform pre-installed from the factory and several custom AI functions such as AI Notes, AI Recorder and similar.

Competitors and availability

Poco X7 Pro has a very good ratio and prices – a direct competitor is hard to find. Xiaomi 14T it has similar parameters, but a smaller battery and much better camera equipment. But it is sold at least one hundred euros more expensive. The second competitor could be Samsung Galaxy A55 5Gwhich, however, for a price of around 400 euros, slightly lags behind in performance, battery and cameras.

Poco X7 with an even lower price can fight for the customer with Samsungom A35but there will be tougher competitors sooner Motorola G85 with Snapdragon 6S Gen 3, similar photo equipment and a 5,000 mAh battery at a price of around 260 euros. Or even more Honor Magic6 Lite with a 108 Mpix main camera and up to a 5,300 mAh battery for roughly 250 euros.
