An entrepreneur known from television Riina-Maija Palander and media entrepreneur Petri Voutilainen talk about their panic attacks in a recent episode of the Kaksoiselämää podcast.
– I had my first seizure in 2009. We had a long and hot race day at the stables. When I got home, I had a panic attack and had to call an ambulance. They squinted at the thorn. I have had to call an ambulance many times, says Riina-Maija Palander in an episode of the Kaksoiselämää podcast.
Petri Voutilainen says that he first had a panic attack as an elementary school student in a museum and as an adult on a plane.
Riina-Maija Palander’s panic attacks have been really violent.
– For me, those panic attacks got so bad between 2010 and 2020 that I had several years that I didn’t dare to drink a single drop of alcohol. Alcohol triggered it. They were such bad attacks that I lie on the toilet floor in the fetal position, I can’t breathe and I almost lose consciousness. And sometimes he has left, says Riina-Maija Palander.
