The Polaris Dawn mission is humanity’s historic space travel endeavor. Tuesday SpaceX Launches Falcon 9 Rocketwhich carried a Dragon capsule with a four-person crew on top. Selected members of the capsule will soon go on a spacewalk.

Final preparations are currently underway for a spacewalk by two members of the Polaris Dawn crew. The Dragon capsule is at an altitude of about 700 km above the Earthwhere it was brought back from an orbit twice as high (1,400 km from the surface).

The spacewalk will take place at this altitude, and it is far from Earth. For comparison, the International Space Station orbits about 400 km above the planet, and repairs to the Hubble Space Telescope involving astronauts have taken place at an altitude of over 500 km.

The commander and founder of the Polaris Dawn mission, i.e. Jared Isaacman. Second person that Sarah Gilliswho works at SpaceX on a daily basis. The “astronauts” will leave the Dragon capsule through a special hatch that was installed in the ship for the needs of this undertaking. The plan is for this to happen before 12:00 in Poland.
