Frenchman Pierre Gasly on Alpine and Monaco’s Charles Leclerc on Ferrari will start from the second row. The leader of the standings, Max Verstappen, can secure his fourth world title early in the race.
He will start in them from the third row after taking 5th place in qualifying. His Mexican teammate Sergio Perez will only start from 16th place after he finished in the first part of qualifying.
In 14th place went Argentine Franco Colapinto on Alpine, who had an accident in the second part of qualifying when he failed to enter a left-hand corner.
