Polestar has unveiled a new model. Images are not available yet, but the Polestar 7 joins the popular compact electric SUV segment.
Polestar revealed the arrival of the Polestar 7 during its presentation latest quarterly figures. The company expects to become profitable this year, thanks to the success of the larger SUVs, the Polestar 3 and 4. But Polestar did not yet have a compact SUV: one is now on its way.
Brother of the EX30?
The Polestar 7 promises to be the new entry-level model. According to the company, the Polestar 7 will be a ‘premium’ and ‘very progressive’ compact electric SUV, with a ‘strong USP’: a unique selling point. Moreover, the car will be built in Europe. It is not yet clear where exactly, but it will probably be Sweden. Good news anyway, because of the import duties that apply to cars made in China.
The Polestar 7 may be built on the same SEA2 platform that also houses the Volvo EX30, the Smart #1 and the Zeekr The Polestar 7 should also be the starting signal for a transition to a single platform architecture for all new models. This is probably the SEA platform, which is also used for the Polestar 4 and the already announced Polestar 5 and 6.
