Police dismantle call center for scams

The police searched a building in Mijdrecht in an investigation into chat tricks. There, the detectives found two studios, set up as a call center, as it were. Following this search, four suspects were arrested.

The search took place in July. Several laptops and telephones were found in the studios. Among other things, call scripts were found here to support the defrauding of victims. In addition, a firearm was found in a studio.

After further investigation, detectives tracked down four suspects. They were arrested or summoned to the station in the weeks following the search. They are four men from the municipality of De Ronde Venen aged 19, 22, 25 and 27. Research shows that more than 45 victims of scams can be linked to these suspects. The victims of these scams live throughout the Netherlands, including Amsterdam.

On Monday, September 9, the building on Vermogenweg in Mijdrecht will be closed by order of the mayor.
