The head of the “Public Consumer Initiative” Oleg Pavlov submitted an application to the Prosecutor General’s Office and Rospotrebnadzor with a demand to withdraw from circulation canned pollock liver in Primorsky style from the producers “Defriz”, “Priboy” and “Murman-ryba”. The presence of parasites was confirmed in the laboratory of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology. The chains Pyaterochka and Dixie, where they discovered a substandard product, removed the product from sale, as report “News”.

In response to a request from the publication, representatives of the Defriz company reported that they have not been producing products since last year. “Murman-Ryba” assures that this is a fake, and not a factory product. And Priboi claims that the products meet all requirements.

In the appeal, the OPI mentions that cases of detection of larvae in canned fish have become more frequent. Also in recent months, news has regularly appeared about mass poisonings, for example, with marshmallows. In the summer, outbreaks of botulism were observed in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, and now the victims are demanding up to 2 million rubles per person from Samokat and Kitchen in the District.

“Romir” conducted a current study and showed that “the category of ready-made food, popular among Russians, showed a decline for the first time this year after a long period of growth” (the quote from TASS).

The number of Russians who made at least one purchase in this segment decreased from 33.4% to 31.7%. Analysts are sure: the whole point is Russians’ distrust of the quality of ready-made food due to the “information background of last summer.”

At the same time, the average check, despite the problems, still increased by 13%, and the industry’s turnover exceeded 103 billion rubles (35% more than last year). The leaders in demand remain salads, main courses, snacks and pickles, as well as sushi and onigiri.
