“I decided to sign in Poprad because I evaluated it as a good opportunity for me to come and help the team and be a difference player.

I verified that Poprad is one of the best places to work in Slovakia. I will try to do my best so that together with the team we can win as many duels as possible and advance to the playoffs”, Thomas told the club website of “chamois”.

“We have been announcing for a long time that we are looking for a defender on the player market who should bring quality to our team. I think we have found it in Ben and that we will be able to rely on him in difficult situations on the ice.

We have been in contact for a long time and I am glad that we have come to an agreement. I also want to welcome him to HK Poprad and wish him all the best,” the club’s sports director Július Koval evaluated the new acquisition.

Thomas also has five duels in the NHL. Since the 2021/22 season, it has been operating on the old continent. His first stop was the Swedish top flight, where he played for Leksand and Växjö.

He spent the following season in Finnish Tappar, with whom he won the championship title and also won the Champions League. Last year he played for German Iserlohn.
