Porsche Macan EV RWD & Macan EV 4S

Porsche is expanding its range of electric SUVs by introducing the rear-wheel drive Macan and the more powerful Macan 4S with four-wheel drive. An off-road design package is also available to customers.

Porsche Macan EV RWD

The basic Macan is powered by a single rear-mounted electric motor, which develops 340 hp, or up to 360 hp and 536 Nm of torque in overboost. It takes 5.4 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour (97 km/h) and reaches a maximum speed of 219 km/h. As expected, the first version of the rear-wheel drive SUV is the lightest in the range, 110 kilograms lighter than the Macan 4. That means it’s also the most efficient and probably gets the most range out of the standard 100 kWh battery, but Porsche hasn’t released official figures yet.

As is the case with all versions of the electric Macan, the 800-volt PPE architecture supports DC charging up to 270 kW, which allows the battery to be charged from 10 to 80 percent capacity in 21 minutes.

Another novelty in the offer is the more powerful Macan 4S, which finds its place between the Macan 4 and the Macan Turbo. It is powered by two electric motors that deliver 449 hp, i.e. 517 hp and 784 Nm of torque in overboost. It reaches 60 miles per hour (97 km/h) in just 3.9 seconds, which means it’s a second faster than the Macan 4 and 0.8 seconds faster than the Macan Turbo. The maximum speed is limited to 240 km/h.

The Macan and Macan 4S come standard with adaptive air suspension and electronically controlled dampers (PASM) with an optional rear axle steering system. In addition, the Macan 4S is equipped with the electronically controlled Porsche Traction Management traction control system with the optional Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus torque distribution system.

New versions can already be ordered.

In addition to the new drive options, Porsche also presented an optional off-road design package compatible with all versions of the electric Macan. This package emphasizes the robust and adventurous appearance of the SUV, but at the same time increases everyday practicality for those who plan to leave the paved roads.

The package includes a redesigned front bumper with matching elements on the side skirts and diffuser. The underbody protection is available in body color, but also in Vesuvius gray which creates a contrast. There is also a body kit that can be paired with new five-spoke 21-inch wheels in Vesuvius Grey.

More importantly, the off-road package brings an additional 10mm of lift via the air suspension, increasing the ground clearance to 196mm in the “normal” setting and 225mm in the highest setting. In combination with the slightly changed front bumper, the maximum approach angle is 17.5 degrees, which further reduces the risk of scratching the Macan’s chassis.

Porsche has also introduced additional personalization options for the electric Macan, and they include the new Slate Neo gray color in the palette and a set of 20-inch Macan S wheels.

The Porsche Driver Experience digital cockpit has been enhanced with new graphics and screen animations. The new Themes app allows the driver to customize the background color of the screen and ambient lighting to match the color of the vehicle’s body.
