Porsche officially launches the new 911 GT3 and GT3 Touring

Porsche has officially revealed the update for the 911 GT3. The German sports car will also be available in the form of the Touring package.

The German manufacturer recently launched the update for its sports model, which brings improvements at the aesthetic, technological level, but also a more refined chassis to increase the dynamic abilities of the cars.

In a double premiere, Porsche presented both the new 911 GT3 facelift (992.2) and the 911 GT3 Touring, a variant without a rear wing of the sports model. The German brand is also celebrating 25 911 GT3s with the simultaneous launch of these two models.

Along with this facelift, the cars get the changes we found on the other updated models in the 911 range. They include new headlights and taillights, redesigned spoilers and new wheel designs. The spoiler of the 911 GT3 has also been redesigned for better aerodynamic efficiency. In addition to the aesthetic changes, Porsche modified the geometry of the front suspension to reduce the pitch effect when braking.

The Porsche 911 GT3 and GT3 Touring use the same 4.0 liter boxer engine

For this update, the 911 GT3 retains the six-cylinder boxer engine that develops 510 hp and 470 Nm of torque, but the manufacturer says it has made changes to improve performance and emissions. For example, the two cylinder heads have been revised, and the engine now uses the camshafts previously fitted to the 911 GT3 RS.

The valves have also been optimized, and to ensure better engine cooling, Porsche has fitted updated oil coolers. In addition, the 911 GT3 now benefits from a shorter final drive ratio, which means that shifts will be more incisive.

The Porsche 911 GT3 can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds when equipped with the seven-speed PDK automatic transmission. Versions equipped with a six-speed manual transmission can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. The automatic variant reaches a top speed of 311 km/h, while the manual transmission models can reach a top speed of 313 km/h.

The new Porsche 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 with Touring package will be available to order later this year. The first deliveries will start in 2025.
