After the Porsche Taycan was completely renewed at the beginning of the year, the project managers still found some market niches that were not covered by the model family. With the new variants just presented, the collection is said to be complete: the car can currently be selected in a total of nineteen different powertrain and bodywork combinations.
One of the new features is the Taycan GTS, which is capable of peak power of up to 515 kW, making it the sportiest version after the Turbo variants. The previous GTS was only capable of 440 kW, and let’s face it, the new variant only has a peak power of 445 kW by default, but if we activate the automatic transmission and the overtaking support function of the series Sport Chrono package, the control provides us with an extra 70 kW for 10 seconds. . The remaining time is shown by a countdown on the dashboard.
Available in both sedan and Sport Turismo versions, the GTS accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds after the start, instead of the previous 3.7. If we were to accelerate further, the 0-200 km/h sprint takes 10.4 seconds, compared to the predecessor’s 12 seconds. The speed is accompanied by the synthesized sound familiar from the Taycan Turbo S model. The range is 628 kilometers, which is more than 120 kilometers more than before.
The bodywork is dominated by black and dark gray details, and a new feature is that there are shiny black aerodynamic fittings at the front and rear. The console of the exterior mirrors is also glossy black, while the 20- or 21-inch wheels are dark gray.
Inside, the details of the Taycan Turbo GT echo, from the upholstery to the seats to the GT steering wheel. The interior color scheme can be red or gray, and the Bose Surround sound system is standard.
The air suspension is individually tuned, torque vectoring is standard, but all-wheel steering is an extra charge.
While the Taycan GTS shoots itself near the top of the range, the Taycan 4 is actually identical to the entry-level version, only with all-wheel drive. It can be ordered with two types of batteries, so the peak power can be 300 or 320 kW if the automatic transmission is activated. By definition, the range also varies depending on the battery, on paper the Taycan 4 can cover 559 kilometers with the smaller one and 643 kilometers with the larger one.
The Taycan 4 accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, while the basic Taycan with rear-wheel drive, which is 80 kilograms lighter than it, needs 4.8 seconds to do the same. By the way, the first electric motor is only active when necessary (acceleration or regenerative braking), the Taycan 4 only drives the rear by default.
The Taycan 4 can be ordered in Germany from 106,200 euros, i.e. 43 million forints, while the Taycan GTS sedan starts at 147,700 euros (60.6 million HUF), and the Sport Turismo body costs 900 euros (370,000 HUF). The new models will arrive in European Porsche dealerships at the beginning of 2025.
