Due to several power outages in the Schalke stadium, TV viewers on the broadcasting channel Sky missed two goals in the 2nd Bundesliga match between FC Schalke 04 and SV Darmstadt 98 (3:5).

The spectators first missed S04’s 3-0 goal by Ron Schallenberg in the first half (39th minute), and then after the break Darmstadt’s 2-3 goal by Isac Lidberg (56th).

“The emergency power was switched on in each case, but some computer systems had to be restarted first,” explained S04. This affected the TV broadcast, among other things. It was initially unclear why the power outages occurred.

“There was a power outage at Schalke, and the floodlights also failed. The third goal was scored when the lights came back on, but the cameras and the associated broadcast were not yet running. We apologize for the outage. Thank you,” wrote Sky on the X platform after viewers missed Schalke’s goal by Schallenberg.
