From Sunday, Sky Sport will broadcast the 20 games from Premier League matchdays 19 and 20 live and will also offer some broadcasts in UHD.
On the legendary Boxing Day, leaders Liverpool continued to march forward, while Manchester City – despite improving their performance against Everton – still cannot find a way out of the crisis. Will the upcoming New Year bring big changes in the Premier League? From tomorrow Sunday to Monday, January 6th. Sky Sport is broadcasting all 20 games on matchdays 19 and 20 live.
First of all, on Sunday from 3 p.m. Markus Götz and René Adler will welcome the audience to a 5-person conference in which Pep Guardiola and Manchester City finally want to put their crisis of results behind them at Leicester. Across all competitions, the Cityzens have only managed one win from their last 13 games – the last time things went so badly for the club was 21 years ago.
Several games also in UHD resolution
After the conference, Toni Tomic gets the audience in the mood for the “Match of the Week” between West Ham United and Liverpool FC, which Sky expert Raphael Honigstein also reports live on site and which is also offered in UHD, as well as during the day then the game between Manchester United and Newcastle United. From 8:30 p.m. Florian-Schmidt-Sommerfeld and René Adler will analyze the encounter in the Sky Sport Premier League Studio. The first game of 2025 follows on Wednesday, January 1st between Brentford and Liverpool pursuers Arsenal from 6:20 p.m., also in UHD.
The 20th matchday begins on Saturday with a total of seven games, including another 5-a-side conference. Mladen Petric gives his assessments as a Sky expert. In the “Match of the Week” Fabian Hürzeler and Kai Havertz will face each other when Brighton hosts Arsenal FC.
An absolute highlight follows on Sunday, January 5th, when the North-West Derby between Liverpool and Manchester United takes place. As is well known, the rivalry between the two traditional clubs, which dates back to the late 19th century, is one of the greatest in English football and continues to electrify the masses. Jonas Friedrich, together with Sky expert Thomas Hitzlsperger, comments on the fast-paced game (from 5 p.m., also in UHD), for which a data zone is also offered.
