DAPURPACUID – Citroen announced its presence at the 2024 Gaikindo International Indonesia Auto Show (GIIAS) to produce the E-C3 electric car in Indonesia.
“Now, at the 2024 GIIAS event, Citroen has announced plans to continue its steps towards local production in Indonesia,” said Chief Executive Officer of PT Indomobil National Distributor, Tan Kiam Piauw on the sidelines of the 2024 GIIAS exhibition, Wednesday (17/7). He explained that this is in line with the steps of the Indonesian government in realizing the acceleration of the transition to electrification-based vehicles.
Not only that, he said that Citroen’s domestic production is the result of cooperation between PT Indomobil National Distributor, Stellantis and PT Nasional Assemblers under the auspices of the Indomobil Group, “We have realized one of Citroen’s strategic steps to start domestic production for the Citroen E-C3 All Electric model,” he explained.
In addition, at the 2024 GIIAS event, Citroen also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to officially launch the domestic production of the Citroen E-C3.
“Citroen also supports the domestic automotive industry in localizing the Citroen E-C3 All Electric, in order to achieve the TKDN requirement of at least 40 percent,” explained Tan Kiam Piauw. Furthermore, Citroen hopes that by investing Rp381 billion, it can absorb more domestic workers for the production process of this electric car from France. (dpid/DF)
