The Presidential Office announced on the 28th that President Yoon Seok-yeol presented credentials to ambassadors to Korea from 13 countries, including Giovanni Gaspari, Ambassador of the Vatican to Korea.

President Yoon presented the credentials to the ambassadors to Korea at the Ambassador Credentials Ceremony held in the Jayu Hall on the second floor of the Presidential Office in Yongsan this afternoon.

The ambassadors who received credentials on this day were Ambassador Gaspari, Paraguay Ambassador to Korea Miguel Angel Ubaldino Romero Alvarez, Bahraini Ambassador Saud Hassan Al Nusf, Mongolian Ambassador to Korea Suhe Sukhbold, Papua New Guinea Ambassador to Korea Helen Eighty, and Karl-Ulf Andersson. Ambassador of Sweden, Ambassador of Latvia to Korea Janis Berzinc, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Korea Alisher Abdusalomov, Ambassador of Belgium to Korea Bruno Jans, Ambassador of South Africa to Korea Sindiswa Ntombolimo Mkuku, Ambassador of Finland to Korea Yuri Jerbiaho, Ambassador of Finland to Korea Dario Cesar Sella. These include Argentine Ambassador to Korea Ya Alvarez and Israeli Ambassador to Korea Rafael Harpaz.

After handing over his credentials, President Yoon took a commemorative photo with the ambassador, his spouse, and his entourage and then moved to the reception hall.

A letter of credentials is a diplomatic document in which the head of state of the sending country guarantees the ambassador to the receiving country. The head of state of the receiving country delivers credentials to newly appointed ambassadors through a credentials presentation ceremony.

The ceremony was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Tae-yeol, Director of the National Security Office Shin Won-sik, First Deputy Director of the National Security Office Kim Tae-hyo, Senior Secretary for Public Relations Lee Do-woon, Senior Secretary for Economic Affairs Park Chun-seop, and Foreign Affairs Secretary Lee Chung-myeon.
