The Guimarães court ordered preventive detention for the three suspects arrested by the Braga judicial police as part of the “Cristal Lab” operation, which led to the dismantling of a cocaine production laboratory in Santa Maria da Feira.
The three detainees, one of them Portuguese, will await trial in preventive detention at the Braga prison.
The detainees are aged between 54 and 59. Two of them have criminal records for drug trafficking.
The leader of the group, a 54-year-old Argentinean, lived a life of luxury with the profits from the laboratory and his family did not hide their luxuries. The ArgentineanHe also paid for the house and all the expenses of the two operatives – one Portuguese and one Colombian.
The operation was carried out by the Criminal Investigation Department of Braga, with the collaboration of the Northern Directorate, with the presence of experts from the Scientific Police Laboratory delegation and the collaboration of the GNR.
