During the past week, STIPS reporters recorded the prices of fruits and vegetables in markets across Serbia, as well as the quality of the offer. In all markets, a higher supply of grapes and apples is noticeable, while the price of melons and watermelons has increased due to the decreasing supply.
Prices of fruits and vegetables at Kvantaš in Belgrade
The supply of grapes and apples is increasing, while the supply of peaches and nectarines is decreasing.
Prices have increased for blueberries, peaches, raspberries and nectarines. A good offer of seasonal vegetables at the Quanta market in Belgrade. The supply of melons and watermelons is decreasing, so they have become more expensive. A higher price was also recorded for cauliflower, potatoes, garlic, spring onion, bell pepper, zucchini and lettuce.
The prices were lower for hot peppers and others. For the first time this season, gherkins and kale were on offer.
Larger offer of apples at the Kalenić market
The supply of apples and grapes increases at the Kalenić market in Belgrade during the last week of August, but the prices are unchanged. Bananas went up in price, and a lower price was recorded for nectarines.
The offer of seasonal vegetables is good at the market stalls. In this period, there was a drop in prices for tomatoes and leeks. Somewhat more expensive were cucumber, bell pepper and spring onion.
Green market in Čačak
The offer of seasonal fruits and vegetables at the green market in Čačak was good. This week grapes are on offer and the price is from 150 to 250 din/kg. Raspberries are sold for 700 din/kg, and blackberries for 500 din/kg.
Buyers should pay 100 to 120 din/kg for potatoes and carrots, and 120 to 130 din/kg for tomatoes. The price of cabbage varied from 50 to 60 din/kg.
Paprika was sold at a price of 180 to 200 din/kg.
Prices of fruits and vegetables in Leskovac
STIPS reporters from Leskovac recorded a drop in the prices of salad cucumbers, hot peppers, tomatoes, parsnips and zucchini compared to the previous period. Due to the weaker supply of cabbage on the market in the past period, the price of this vegetable crop was noticeably higher.
