In a telephone conversation, Prime Minister Robert Golob congratulated the candidate for European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, on her successful hearing and confirmation before the competent committee of the European Parliament.
»I believe it will Marta Kos with her work and vision she decisively contributed to a bigger and stronger EU,” the prime minister emphasized in a telephone conversation with the Slovenian candidate for commissioner Robert Dovethe government announced in a post on the X social network.

The committee’s green light confirms that her candidacy for a member of the European Commission from Slovenia was a good decision, Golob said, according to the government.
The Prime Minister was also in contact with the President of the European Commission Ursulo von der Leyenwho expressed her sincere enthusiasm for the future commissioner to Golob after the hearing, the government also announced.
The candidate for European Commissioner is for “excellent presentation” also congratulated the Deputy Prime Minister Matej Archonwho, as he pointed out, did not doubt for a moment that she would convince the European parliamentarians with her knowledge, insight, moderation and ability to express herself.
»We are looking forward to the start of work on the new composition of the European Commission, in which Slovenia and its Commissioner will play an extremely important role,” pointed out Archon in a press statement, adding that expansion is an area that will largely shape the future of Europe.
The Slovenian candidate for European Commissioner for Enlargement has received the green light from the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs after today’s hearing, announced the liberal political group Renew, to which Marta Kos also belongs.
According to unofficial information, representatives of the center-right European People’s Party (EPP), the Socialists and Democrats (S&D), the Greens and the far-right group of European Conservatives and Reformists, who have a total of 59 out of 79 Afet members, voted for her appointment. It needed the support of groups with at least 51 members. Meanwhile, according to unofficial information, the remaining three out of a total of eight groups did not support her. These are the group of the European Left and the far-right groups Patriots for Europe and Europe of Sovereign Nations.
