Prime Video announces the big return of Pop Star on social networks

Popstars, the French musical television show formerly broadcast on M6, announces its big return on the streaming platform, Prime Video. To promote this new edition, an activation was launched on Instagram with the talent of Aurélien Froissart.

Pop stars is making a comeback? The French music show first aired on the small screen on September 20, 2001, on the M6 television channel. The show was produced in fits and starts, with seasons 1, 2 and 3 airing one after the other, while the fourth aired 4 years later. The show was then broadcast on the D8 channel in 2013, before ending its run, 11 years later, on Prime Video, since September 12.

The “pranked” influencer

To promote this big comeback, Prime Video and the Fred & Farid agency set up an activation on Instagram, with the help of content creator: Aurélien Froissart. Prime Video is also a fan of activations with influencers, since the streaming platform had already set up an initiative with the influencer Evan to promote the series Ourika.

The campaign takes the concept of Aurélien Froissart, known as the “French piano guy”, a talented musician and content creator who starts playing a song in a public place when a very beautiful voice joins him for an anthology duet. By reproducing this pattern in the campaign, the idea was to capture the very essence of Pop stars : revealing talents hidden among the anonymous.

But this time, Aurélien is going to be “pranked”: among the customers of a restaurant in the center of Paris are hidden 6 candidates of Pop stars. As time goes by, the 6 singers, all from the new season of Pop starsjoin Aurélien for an astonishing performance on the title “Amour Plastique”, rearranged for the occasion by the content creator.

The video of this performance was shared on Instagram, and quickly generated more than 2 million views and interactions.
