Prince William has opened up and made emotional statements about the “toughest year” of his life, due to the serious health issues faced by his wife Kate Middleton and his father, King Charles.
In an interview with intense emotional weight, at the end of his official visit to South Africa, where he had attended the presentation of the environmental awards “Earthshot Prize Awards”, the Prince admitted that the last few months had been “torturous”.
Referring to Kate and his father, he said with emotion how proud he feels for the dignity and bravery they display.
“From a personal and family point of view, it was unimaginably difficult”he confessed, stressing how moved he is by the strength they show.
His wife, Princess of Wales, was diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of the year and recently completed her preventive chemotherapy. William explained that Kate it is now “Well” and she was courageous throughout her adventure.
At the same time, King Charles, who was diagnosed with prostate cancer after a routine medical examination in January, continues his treatmentwith doctors optimistic about his progress.
With the burden of caring for his family weighing on his day-to-day life, William admitted that although he usually seems relaxed, this year was full of challenges for him.
He stated that he doesn’t like the extra responsibility he carries as Prince of Walesbut appreciates the opportunity to build important initiatives, such as the “Earthshot” award, which he considers one of the most “essentially” works he can do for humanity.

The Prince expressed his devotion to creating sustainable solutions for the environment and his inability to understand why some companies and governments procrastinate.
William emphasized that climate change requires immediate and bold action, saying his message to the business world is simple: “Invest fast, because we just don’t have time”.
