Princess Leonor entered the Zaragoza Military Academy in August 2023 to complete the first stage of studies corresponding to her military training. Margarita Pardo de Santayana is also an expert in piloting helicopters and has participated in several international missions. She was commissioned as an intelligence analyst at NATO Headquarters in Skopje (Macedonia) in 2003 and served as Chief of Operations of the Army Helicopter Unit in Herat (Afghanistan) in 2007.
