Even though Waze dominates the world of mobile apps, the truth is that Google Maps has been gaining ground thanks to new features. Reporting road problems was one of these, but it wasn’t yet available in systems like CarPlay or Android Auto. That’s changing now, at least in the Apple universe.
Report problems on the CarPlay road
Google Maps is increasingly becoming a tool to help drivers on their journeys. In addition to providing route guidance, it also helps to show where there is traffic and how it can be avoided on users' daily journeys.
One of the latest new features allows you to report problems on the road, whether they are accidents or simply a speed camera. This feature was previously limited to smartphones, but that is now changing with another improvement. It is now also available on Apple's CarPlay.
Google Maps opens up to new platforms
This was an option that Google users had been asking for for a long time. They, who depend on CarPlay to get around in their cars, wanted to be able to report problems on the road and thus help other drivers.
With this new feature, you can now report problems such as accidents, slowdowns, roadworks, stopped vehicles or a speed camera. This makes navigating the road easier and, most importantly, safer. To report one of these situations, there is now a new button on the interface, which gives access to the list of possible problems.

For now, Android Auto will be left out
As with the Android version, this data is fed into the platform automatically. It will then, as usual, be made available to other road users and will help to avoid problems and unusual situations.
Interestingly, Google appears to have prioritized Apple's CarPlay over Android Auto. The search giant's system is expected to receive this new feature in its version of Google Maps in the near future. There now seems to be special attention being paid to this system and iOS, as seen recently with the addition of the speedometer.
