PS enables a 1-point reduction in IRC and criticizes the Government’s “irresponsible maneuver” – Politics

The PS announced today to Lusa that it will enable the reduction of one percentage point in the IRC foreseen in the budget in the specialty and refused to “feed the distraction strategies” of the Government, which it accused of “childish and irresponsible political maneuvers”.

“The PS announced that it was going to make the State Budget for 2025 viable, which included a reduction of 1 percentage point in the IRC. Therefore, it will not make this reduction in the specialty impossible”, announced the PS parliamentary group in a note sent to Lusa after today’s PSD and CDS-PP announced that they would move forward with a 2-point reduction in IRC if a “compromise solution” of one point was rejected.

Socialists warn that any reduction of more than 1 percentage point in the IRC will result in “a lead on the part of the PS, both in the specialty and in the final global vote”.

The PS accuses PSD and CDS-PP of “yet another childish and irresponsible political maneuver” that “could put the country’s political stability at risk.”

“The Government wanted to create a problem that doesn’t exist”, he criticized.

The socialists thus refused to “feed the AD Government’s distraction strategies” which they accuse of revealing “incompetence and negligence, as the recent episode of the crisis at INEM demonstrates”.
