On the occasion of commemorating 70 years of work of the Kikinda Agricultural Expert Service, a ceremonial academy was organized in the City Hall’s Ceremonial Hall. At this event, in addition to numerous guests from republican and provincial institutions, Kikinda mayor Mladen Bogdan and City Council member Đorđe Tešin were also present.
The mayor expressed his gratitude to the Service for its knowledge and contribution to the development of agriculture, stressing the importance of continued cooperation in order to improve agricultural trends, educate producers and improve production. This institution, which has changed names over the decades, has remained dedicated to its basic mission – improving agricultural production and supporting farmers.
Tešin emphasized the importance of cooperation between the City of Kikinda and the Service. He particularly focused on intensive cooperation in the education of agricultural producers and soil analysis, which is carried out regularly. This cooperation also includes the exchange of data needed to create important documents that contribute to the development of agriculture, he said.

Assistant Provincial Secretary for Agriculture, Petar Samolovac, announced the improvement of the work of agricultural expert services by introducing modern technologies for soil sampling. It is planned to use vehicles equipped with probes, which would reach the standards of the most modern world companies.
During the ceremonial academy, plaques were awarded in recognition of the contribution to the development of agriculture. Among the winners are the City of Kikinda, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Provincial Secretariat for Agriculture, the municipality of Novi Kneževac and the long-term director of the Agricultural Expert Service, Ratko Rožić. The director of the Service, Mladen Đuran, pointed out that the Service remained faithful to its principles during seven decades of work, which contributed to its success and the celebration of this important jubilee.
This event not only highlighted the importance of the Agricultural Expert Service for the local community, but also reminded of its continuous work in order to develop agriculture, educate producers and adopt modern technologies. Through this ceremony, the importance of cooperation between institutions and farmers, as well as adaptation to new challenges in modern agriculture, was emphasized.
