Those from PSV Eindhoven came with an offer for the FCSB star. The Dutch offered Gigi Becali a contract worth 5 million euros.
Gigi Becali is willing to give up Darius Olaru (26 years old) after the “red-blues” will perform in the “double” with LASK Linz in the Europa League play-off.
Gigi Becali received an offer from PSV Eindhoven for Darius Olaru
On the name of the captain from FCSB appeared an offer from the PSV Eindhoven club, the Dutch being willing to pay no less than five million euros to transfer him.
“PSV puts a maximum of five million euros on the table. They are up a million from the original approach. Hard to go higher than that! But, if things will move, it is not excluded that Becali will let him go even before the games with LASK”, the sources of the publication said GSP.ro.
PSV Eindhoven won the Dutch championship trophy the previous season, when they also set an all-time record in Eredivisie history for the number of points accumulated, 91. The record was previously held by Ajax, who won the championship in 1997 /1998 with 89 points.
Gigi Becali asked for 6 million euros for Darius Olaru: “I can’t keep him if he wants to leave”
Gigi Becali, the boss at FCSB, said that would agree to sell Darius Olaru against an amount of approximately six million euros. However, the landowner from Pipera admitted that he would like the player not to leave his team.
“We received two offers for him, from Europe and Russia. I think they give it for about 6 million euros, even though I asked for 8. After Linz, I think we part ways. I want to increase his salary and not leave, but I can’t keep him if he wants to leave,” said Gigi Becali, after FCSB were knocked out of the Champions League by the Czechs from Sparta Prague.
Darius Olaru had signed with FCSB at the beginning of 2020 when he was transferred from Gaz Metan. At the moment, he has a salary of 20,000 euros. Despite the fact that the financier of the Romanian champion is willing to increase his remuneration by 5000 euros, the footballer wants to play for a team abroad.
Ovidiu Stângă, former player at PSV Eindhoven, believes that a transfer of Darius Olaru to the Eredivisie team would be a good omen.
“It would be extraordinary for Olaru to reach PSV. I don’t know anything about this subject, because such transfers, if they are made, are only known to two or three people in the club. Anyway, another Romanian at PSV, after so many years, would mean a big white ball for Romanian football”, said the former midfielder, according to the previously cited source.
So far, the only two Romanian footballers who played for the Batavian team are Gică Popescu (1990-1994) and Ovidiu Stângă (1996-2001).
