The demand for the book “In my own bosom” by Katherine Diez is so great that the publisher People’s Press has decided to do another edition a week after its publication.
This was announced by the publisher to Ekstra Bladet on Monday.
The publisher’s press manager, Mette König, tells the media that sales of the book have been “really good” from the start.
However, she will not disclose how large the first edition was, or how large the second edition will be.
– We generally do not disclose circulation sizes, but as I said, we are very pleased that many, many readers are interested in the book, says Mette König.
The chain’s managing director, Marianne Lyngby Pedersen, attributes the success, among other things, to the great media attention. She says that to Ekstra Bladet.
The book is the first from the hand of Katherine Diez. Among other things, it is about the case of plagiarism that she was the subject of earlier this year.
The case began on the social media site Reddit, where she was accused of plagiarizing reviewers and writers, including from foreign publications.
Berlingske, who had employed Diez, examined her texts and came to the conclusion that plagiarism was involved in several cases.
In addition to that case, Katherine Diez also describes her childhood and youth in the book. Several of her previous relationships are also mentioned.
This applies, among other things, to the relationship with TV chef and screenwriter Adam Price. The two formed a couple from 2022 to early 2024.
On the day of the release, Price posted a post on his Instagram profile accusing Katherine Diez of invading his privacy through descriptions of their relationship.
Until the plagiarism case, Diez worked, among other things, as a columnist and literary reviewer.
