“We are extremely proud that the new factory will enable the production of an expanded range and even better quality products for our customers. This is something we have been working on for a long time and devotedly, and that is exactly why, first of all, I want to thank all the employees who, with their hard work and joint efforts, enabled the realization of this important project. Also, a big thank you to our customers and partners for the relationship of trust that stands on solid foundations,” said Aleksandra Radičević, general director of the Puratos company in Serbia.

“This modern plant is not only a proof of our commitment to innovation and quality, but also a driving force for the economic development of Kragujevac and the region. By expanding our production capacity, we are positioning ourselves as a key player in the Western Balkans in this sector. For more than 100 years, we have been investing in innovation centers around the world, maintaining the quality we are known for. Innovations are the engine of our progress, which allows us to better understand consumers and helps us to always be one step ahead of trends, while sustainability is at the very heart of everything we do,” said Pierre Tossut, director of the Puratos Group.

The new factory provided 15 new jobs. During the construction, only domestic subcontractors were engaged, which once again demonstrated Puratos’ commitment to support local communities.

Special attention is paid to sustainability and environmental responsibility. The factory is equipped with the most modern technology that enables an annual reduction in energy consumption equivalent to the consumption of 100 households in Serbia, while carbon dioxide emissions are reduced to a level corresponding to the annual emissions of 40 diesel cars that travel 30,000 kilometers. These results were achieved thanks to projects such as a hot water boiler, servo drives of dispensers and heat pumps.

The automated production line for margarine, which has already started operating, sets new standards of quality and safety. This technology enables the use of modern packaging, including HDPE blue foil, which better preserves the properties of products and improves their safety. In addition, a new packaging for powder products was introduced, made of unbleached paper, aligned with the global Puratos sustainability standards.

Moving to a new factory brought better working conditions for employees, with additional improvement in the quality and safety of the products for which Puratos is recognized worldwide. By opening the factory in Kragujevac, Puratos confirms its commitment to providing top-quality services and products, as well as its responsibility towards the community and the environment.
