Abanca made a profit of 412 million euros in the first half of the year, an increase of almost 50% compared to the 277 million recorded in the same period, the financial institution reported in a statement. Profitability reached 16.9%.
A purchase of Eurobic takes the Spanish bank’s figures to new heights: “Taking into account the contribution of EuroBic, which will be reflected in the accounts in the third quarter of this year, the turnover managed by Abanca exceeds 128 billion eurosfocused on activities with companies and individuals”, writes the institution.
The financial margin grew by 42.5% to 767.4 million euros. “Customer loans amounted to 45.5 billion euros. The loan portfolio grew by 3.1% year-on-year (15.7% pro-forma with EuroBic) to 44,761 million euros”, while “new loans increased by 8.4% to almost 6 billion euros, with emphasis on mortgage loans (2.9%) and long-term loans to companies (8.0%)”.
“Customer resources grew by 9.3% (20.3% pro-forma with EuroBic) compared to the previous year, to 70,097 million euros”.
The CET1 capital ratio increased to 13.0%, while the total capital ratio increased to 17.3%.
The bank has a network of 937 points of sale, of which 686 are in Spain and 251 in Portugal.
During the period, the Abanca attracts 65 thousand new customers.
