Engineered to deliver world-class performance, the Mustang GTD is set to set a record at the Nürburgring in under seven minutes.

A Supercharged V8 That Breaks Limits

At the heart of the 2025 Mustang GTD is a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine, which Ford says delivers more horsepower per liter than the Porsche 911 GT3 RS.We’ve been focused from day 1 on making the Mustang GTD the first supercar with world-class performance and the soul of a Mustang.“said Greg Goodall, Mustang GTD Program Manager.

This powerful V8 improves on previous versions of Mustang engines thanks to the first dry sump system in a Mustang. This innovative system allows optimal engine lubrication even during intense and prolonged cornering.

In addition, this dry sump allows the maximum engine speed to be raised to 7,650 rpm, 100 rpm more than the previous version of the 5.2-liter V8.

The extra power is achieved through a revised intake and exhaust system, a standard titanium exhaust system and a smaller supercharger that improves engine efficiency.

Aerodynamics and Advanced Technology for Supreme Performance

To reach its top speed of 202 mph, the 2025 Mustang GTD features a Drag Reduction System (DRS) that adjusts the angle of the rear wing and activates flaps at the front of the vehicle. This system seeks the perfect balance of airflow for speed and downforce for maximum traction, depending on performance conditions.

Ford has also equipped the Mustang GTD with advanced aerodynamic technologies and high-performance braking systems. It features carbon-ceramic brakes and a rear suspension with semi-active dampers, designed to maintain total control at high speeds.

These features are key to enabling the GTD to meet its ambitious goal of lapping the Nürburgring in under seven minutes, an achievement reserved for the world’s most advanced supercars.

«We’ve combined the work of talented engineers and designers, as well as an extremely capable driver, with the technology, power and aerodynamics of the Mustang GTD“Goodall added. “We can’t wait to deliver on our promise of sub-seven-minute completion times to GTD customers.»

A Super Sports Car with the Soul of a Mustang

Ford has managed to combine the essence of the Mustang with the most advanced technology available. The 2025 Mustang GTD is not only a fast car, but it has been designed to provide a unique driving experience, worthy of a supercar.

Greg Goodall stresses that the team’s focus from the beginning was to create a Mustang that would stand out in the supercar world without losing the identity that characterizes the Mustang line.

The 2025 Mustang GTD represents an evolutionary leap for Ford and the Mustang lineup. With 815 horsepower, an advanced aerodynamic system and cutting-edge engine technology, the GTD is poised to set new standards in the automotive industry.

Achieving a sub-seven-minute lap time at the Nürburgring puts the Mustang GTD in the same league as the world’s most prestigious supercars. Ford has set a new milestone in Mustang history, creating a vehicle that combines performance, technology and the passion that defines this iconic model.
