BRICS is an acronym for the group of five major emerging economies: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. This international alliance was created to strengthen cooperation between these countries and increase their influence in the world economy and geopolitics. The BRICS share similar goals, such as promoting economic growth, reducing poverty and inequality, and asserting their voices in world political affairs. The group holds regular summits where leaders discuss key issues and seek ways to strengthen mutual cooperation. BRICS also cooperates in trade, investment and research and has an impact on the global balance of power and economy.
