Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense in the Kremlin. The head of state spoke about how the development of the Oreshnik missiles took place at an amazing pace and with better results, which is remarkable. As is well known, this is the hypersonic missile system with which the Russian army struck the Yuzsmas missile manufacturing plant in Dnipro, eastern Ukraine, the night before.
According to Putin, the tests of the missile system showed that the domestic rocket engineering school is able to solve the problems that ensure Russia’s sovereignty. He believed that developments such as Oreshnik missiles were vital for the country in the war.
The missiles have become another guarantee of Russia’s independence and territorial integrity, the Russian president added, according to the Oreshnik missiles it is not a modernization of the old Soviet systems, but the result of the work of current specialists.
Putin also announced that the Oreshnik system will be put into service with the missile forces, and the serial production of these weapons has already been decided and practically organized. The head of state noted that the mass use of the new missiles against enemy facilities will resemble strategic weapons. The Oreshnik cannot therefore be considered a weapon of mass destruction.
The Russian president also highlighted that Russia has several weapons similar to the Oreshnik, which are currently being tested.
As we know, as you know, no one in the world has such weapons yet. Yes, sooner or later it will appear in other leading countries as well, we know what developments are taking place there. But that will be tomorrow. Or in a year or two. But this system exists today. And that’s important
– said Vladimir Putin, who stated that both the front-line soldiers and citizens in general know that “to protect our security, we have a colossal technological base and a strong industrial scientific background”.
