Quality of life in Gaza dropped 70 years with Israeli attacks – World

The war between Israel and Hamas completely devastated the economy of the Gaza Strip and threw practically the entire population into poverty, reducing the population’s quality of life standards “back to the 1950s” of the last century, according to a report by the United Nations Development Programme.

According to the study, the Palestinian economy declined 35% compared to the period immediately before the war and “will take at least a decade to recover”.

Schools, hospitals and other essential infrastructure were destroyed by Israeli bombings and more than 2.3 million people are in need of urgent humanitarian assistance, the report points out, adding that more than 80% of Gaza’s active population has lost their jobs and “almost 100% ” of the population is in poverty.
