Queen Margrethe is still hospitalized after a day and a half

After her fall on Wednesday evening, Queen Margrethe is still hospitalized at the Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen.

The royal house confirms this.

The queen was taken to hospital after falling on Wednesday evening at Fredensborg Castle, Lene Balleby, head of communications at the royal house, announced in writing on Thursday.

“According to the circumstances, the Queen is doing well, but is temporarily hospitalized for observation,” she continued.

The royal house currently has no further information about the queen.

On Thursday afternoon, it was heard from her son, King Frederik, that he had not yet visited her. Whether he has since achieved that is unknown.

“I haven’t had the opportunity to visit her yet, but I have spoken to her and she is doing well, and I am very comfortable with her treatment at Rigshospitalet”, he told BT on Thursday.

The king traveled abroad on Friday.

It appears from the royal house’s calendar that Queen Mary is head of state on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The royal house confirms to Ekstra Bladet that the king is not in Denmark.

“We can confirm that HM the King is on a private stay abroad over the weekend”, the royal house informs the media.
