Radeon RX 9000 graphics memory configurations

AMD is going to present the Radeon RX 9000 at this year’s CESso we are just a few days away from its official announcement. Its specifications have not yet been confirmed, but there have been so many leaks that we already know roughly what we can expect.

The Radeon RX 9000 are going to mount two different graphics cores, Navi 48 and Navi 44, and these will be used with different shader configurations to create a minimum of four graphics cards. We know that the Radeon RX 9070 XT and Radeon RX 9070 will arrive first, and later AMD could launch the Radeon RX 9060

The most powerful models will have a greater amount of graphics memory, but everything seems to indicate that AMD is going to be quite conservative, and that it is not going to give us any surprises, neither in the amount of memory available nor in its type, since that will use GDDR6 memory again to keep costs as low as possible.

Radeon RX 9000: up to 16 GB of graphics memory

That will be the memory ceiling that the most powerful models will have. In this generation there will not be a high-end model, So the Radeon RX 7900 XTX will not have a true successor, and the fastest model, the Radeon RX 9070

Radeon RX 9070 XT

  • 16 GB of GDDR6 graphics memory at 20 Gbps. We can take this information almost confirmed.

Radeon RX 9070

  • 16 GB of GDDR6 graphics memory at 20 Gbps. It is a fact that also has a lot of weight, although it is not confirmed.

Radeon RX 9060 XT

  • 12 GB of GDDR6 graphics memory at 18 Gbps. It is not confirmed, but it would be the most logical configuration for the segment it is aimed at.

Radeon RX 9060

  • 8 GB of GDDR6 memory at 18 Gbps. It is also not officially confirmed, but it has sounded strongly in multiple rumors, and several sources have reiterated that AMD will continue to use at least a configuration with only 8 GB of graphics memory.

At the moment we have no evidence that AMD is going to launch more graphics cards within the Radeon RX 9000 series. The company may later decide to expand this initial catalog of four models with other configurations, or even that it ends up launching a Radeon RX 9070 XTX with GDDR7 memory to push a little more in the high range, but this is simple speculation on my part.
