Radicalized man arrested after 48 hours of manhunt

The anti-terrorist services arrested, during the night of Thursday to Friday, the radicalized individual, presumed author of an armed robbery in La Ferté-Bernard (Sarthe), two days earlier, according to information from the FigaroOn the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, he called a taxi before stealing its vehicle while making “remarks favorable to Hamas and its Muslim brothers.”

Extremely aggressive, he had indicated that he wanted to “attack” the police, before restraining the taxi driver and stabbing him in the neck. The victim managed to escape and give a precise description of his attacker.

Investigators had identified him as being known to the intelligence services for his radicalization. Since then, they had started looking for this 26-year-old man. Equipped with a handgun, a rifle and a butcher’s paper, he was considered extremely dangerous. The conditions of his arrest are not yet known.
